Angel Food Ministries Opens First Host Site in Public High School

Griffin, GA (November 13, 2009) — Angel Food Ministries (www.angelfoodministries.com), an organization dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality food to families in need, is proud to have a public High School become a host site. Spalding High School in Griffin, Georgia has kindly opened their doors to Angel Food Ministries to distribute healthy, quality food, to families living in the area.
During these harsh economic times, parents are having a difficult time providing quality, affordable food for themselves and their families. Angel Food Ministries is proud to provide affordable, nutritional food to these families. Pastor Joseph Wingo, CEO of Angel Food Ministries, will be attending the distribution to launch organization’s foray into the public school system. Pastor Joe stated, “There is a severe often overlooked need in our schools. We have homeless children attending schools and it goes without saying that they aren’t eating right either. This will help feed our kids and help raise funds to get them into proper homes. We are blessed to be able to do our share, and thankful that the public school system here in Spalding County has welcomed us in.”
Nationally, feeding students has become a growing concern, as school systems curb their breakfast and lunch programs due to financial constraints. Working through public schools is a most direct way to solve these problems, and it s at the core of Angel Food’s mission. Angel Food provides individuals and families with fresh, nationally known foods for a fraction of the retail price. A standard medium-sized box of food may be purchased for $30, and contains top quality food staples from every food group, including chicken or beef, milk, eggs, vegetables and fruits. Each of the regular boxes of food feeds a family of four for about one week or a single individual for almost a month. The menu selections vary each month, and consist of both fresh and frozen items, saving families money with no sacrifice to quality.
Spalding High School’s first distribution will be held Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 9:30-11:00AM. Spaulding High School is located at 433 Wilson Rd Griffin, GA 30224.
